RE-think at the Royal Welsh Show

RE-think had a great time at this year's Royal Welsh Show.  Plenty of people came to visit our stand, which looked great with our smart new gazebos.  Many interesting and productive conversations were had with people from all walks of life - local residents, business owners, politicians and industry professionals.  The concensus of those working on the stand was that in general people are now much better informed about the scale of what is being proposed in Mid Wales and beyond.  Our new, hand-made map of the existing and proposed wind farms and power lines went down very well, with people from across Wales able to pinpoint their own locations and see what was planned for their local area.  Many people photographed it so they could study the implications later.  Our message was generally well received and understood - that while we oppose the industrial scale turbine schemes proposed, we fully support a properly thought out, holistic approach to renewable energy on a realistic scale and using a variety of technologies - which is there for the benefit of local communities, not swamping them.
