Stop Aberedw energy park
Statutory consultation
On July 2nd 2025 Bute Energy progressed its Aberedw Energy Park to the formal stage by starting a statutory consultation. The statutory consultation runs from July 2nd until 5pm on August 15th. To support the consultation a newsletter was released and the Bute Aberedw website revised with the addition of 4000+ pages of technical documentation. in addition 2 public exhibitions (or “drop ins” in Bute’s terms) were held on the 16th and 17th of July from 2pm to 7pm at Hundred House and Aberedw respectively (surprisingly none were held at Builth Wells despite Bute’s literature referring to the wind farm being near Builth Wells). As with previous events these were largely staffed by those with little knowledge of the area concerned or wider issues and no directors of Bute Energy or the Aberedw Energy Park attended. . See Resources opposite for press release on Hundred House consultation. A follow up webinar will be hosted by Bute on August 7th between 7pm and 8 pm.
Responding to the consultation
Following these events you have the opportunity of responding to the consultation. Whilst this can be done by using Bute’s feedback form we would urge you to email Bute at aberedw@bute.energy with your concerns or with any questions you may have, If you prefer to write the address is FREEPOST GRASSHOPPER CONSULT (no further address or stamp required). You may also wish to send copies of your responses to your local politicians and others. The relevant email addresses can be found here.
For those with the time and technical knowledge we have prepared a detailed guide to help you find your way around the 4000+ pages of consultation documentation. For those with less time we have summarised the key facts together with some questions that you may wish to ask in a series of fact sheets.
In addition RE-think is holding 3 drop in events as follows: .Friday 8th August at Hundred House Village Hall 5pm to 7pm, Saturday 9th August at Builth former TIC in Groe car park from 10am to 1pm and Tuesday 12th August at Aberedw Church Hall from 4pm to 6 pm. At these drop in sessions you will be able to meet RE-think volunteers who will help you with your concerns and ways you can send your comments back to Bute. Please share these events with your local groups, your friends and your neighbours.
